ARTS CHARITY MARKETING

I was delighted to partner multi-disciplinary charity organisation ‘Simon King Alternative performing Arts’ at their inception, and continue to support their endeavours as they’ve emerged from Covid restrictions to further widen their remit.

Simon was an irreplacable, multidisciplinary figure on the avant/improv/open-minded music and theatre scene, whose towering but benign creative influence stretched from London to Mozambique (by way of Windsor).

SKAPA continues his legacy by developing artists who defy easy categorisation, staging live events, commissioning new writing and performance projects and conducting educational workshops and research into arts related fields – all with an eye to international collaboration and the long-term aim of establishing a dedicated live arts space.

The initial phase of my campaign has built awareness of the charity’s objectives via targeted online and ‘real world’ promotion to build a unique database. These ‘Friends of SKAPA’ are drawn from performers and promoters, venue management, local authorities, creative practitioners and – most importantly – an arts-supporting public caught at a challenging time in the provision of live entertainment.

Pandemic uncertainties aside, the thirst for innovative communal experience remains unabated, and a subsequent range of accessible, eye-catching documentation is in development for print, digital and venue-wide use.
